Sp

“Agave Sp” may be found on bottles of certified mezcal to indicate that the Agave species is unclassified at the time of bottling. This decision is made by the Consejo Regulador del Mezcal that certifies mezcal.

This category is simply a fallback classification for agave species that have not been officially classified. It does not mean that Agave Sp mezcals are similar in any way.
