About this mezcal

Burrito Fiestero Joven is made with maguey Cenizo (Agave Durangensis), which takes approximately 14 years to reach maturity. Burrito Fiestero has a light smokey scent, with sweetness and floral notes on the palate. Maestro Mezcalero Arturo Conde double distills this mezcal in a copper still.

Burrito Fiestero Mezcal

Mezcal Burrito Fiestero hails from the mountainous State of Durango. The company has an agave reforestation campaign called “ONE FOR ONE” where they plant one agave Cenizo per bottle that is produced, essentially planting 10 times more than what they use. They also play an important role in the sustainable development of El Mezquital, Durango by becoming the biggest jobs provider of the region.

Really nice. The bottle looked different from this on site but all other informations are the same. Not sure about the batch as I tried it at the bar. Pleasure to sip.

Insanely smooth. Nose is sweet and so is the flavor. Was on sale for 24 bucks where I bought it. If you’re a smoke lover you won’t care for it. It’s sweet, not very complex but smooth as silk. 42% alcohol.

This is great. A really affordable and really good quality drink. Little smoky, little vegetal, a real all rounder. Good enough to drink straight, legit in a cocktail. I’ve been through about four bottles of this before signing up here and they’ve all done the job.

Love this as an amazing entry level mezcal for introducing Tequila drinkers to mezcal. It has little smoke and a robust fruity profile. Very enjoyable and very easy to sip. If you like fruity flavors, you will love this.

Got a lot of funk/cheese and some light smoke but nothing I would say is worth having a bottle of. Although it comes in at a reasonable price for a Cenizo from Durango with a little extra investment there are some far superior expressions (Bozal, Leyenda, Sacro Imperio, Origen Raiz).

Batch: 014-A
Nose: The initial smell is somewhat funky… good though! A creamy or buttery sweetness to it.

Palate: More intense than the nose. Smokey creaminess at first then a big explosion of sugar. Hard candy – like a Jolly Rancher but not as tart. This is good value for an entry level mezcal – bought it for $43.

very mild and gentle spirit.great as an evening opener.my review is in step with the others here.slight fruit candy notes like jolly rancher mixed with cotton candy.the finish is short and not too much depth.not much smoke.the nose is exactly what you get on the palate.not 5 star but very mellow and great flavor.bargain price and good quality.

Batch 001-A. An inexpensive mezcal that delivers a lot of pleasure. Soft and buttery, it brings floral notes and a sweet finish. While it might not be the most complex tipple, it is a pleasant sipper and a good basis for drinks as well. A very positive surprise.

tried this at the Finisterre in Bacalar. Fruit notes with soft finish. My favourite of the trip.

Buttered popcorn jellybeans on the nose. 40% ABV but big flavors. Popcorn candy and slight copper. Tried this at Tio’s in Sydney. Haven’t seen it in the States yet. Great value.
