1 ounce sample no batch number. I love earthy Mezcals and this one is very nice. Decaying leaves, eucalyptus, oak, black pepper, golden raisins, peppermint, and roasted yams with brown sugar. This is tasty!

Again, more pepper in this Buho dram. A little disjointed.. hot up front, but finish is short and smooth. Not my fave

Lot Unknown … Pepper mixed with dark chocolate on the nose; earth, grass and wood on the palate. Crisp dry finish. Enjoyed in a “wild & rare” flight, selection 3 of 4.

Just a taste at the Agave: Spirit of a Nation screening. For whatever reason, I had discounted El Buho bc it seems like they have some frills in their bottles, but this was nice, liked the jabali better.

Lot 01 from 2017. I get a lot of sugar and sweetness upfront on this. It’s incredibly easy to drink for 48% with almost no scent or taste of alcohol. Notes of caramel and salt water taffy. It’s got some nice hints of earth and raw green herbs as well. Very happy with this mezcal.

Lots of candy and burnt sugar on this one. Really sweet with a short dry finish. Zero bite as 48% ABV. There is a bit of clove and sour apple here too. This agave Cuishe mezcal is tasty but the dry and sour finish makes it a 3-star for me; it doesn’t have the range of earthy and floral notes found in other Cuishe mezcals which I prefer. Lot 01 from 2017.
