They implement the best fair trade practices where they work, and they have many efforts in agave sustainability. Their mezcals come from the different mezcal-producing states. They also have some special edition, small-batch mezcals. The brand also releases the Pelotón de la Muerte line of mezcals.

In 2021, the brand (under Artisanal Distillates, LLC) raised money via the StartEngine platform at a $32.7 million pre-money valuation.

Really nice! Aromas of sea salt, grade A (golden and delicate) maple syrup, raw sugar cane, and candy dots. The palate is soft with notes of old books, worn in leather, pear fruit, and green grapes. I’m enjoying this a lot.

Enjoyed a small samples of this. The first thing that stuck out was the sweetness which isn’t always a dominate flavor with Agave marmorata. The other reviews mention sugar – I get this Runts candy coating. It is quite light on the palate and mellow despite the 48% ABV. I think I’d like this a bit more if the ABV was just a bit higher. Overall a unique mezcal from Puebla which is worth checking out. No batch info.

Nose: Green apple slices. Smooth smoke. Icing sugar and a hint of light cream.

Palate: Seems to melt in your mouth. Chocolate mousse. Viscosity is nice. Smooth, earthy finish and the warmth builds and builds. The texture is the most interesting thing about this mezcal. Flavors are solid as well.

Very green tasting with fresh Jalapeño, freshly cut green grass, tarragon, powdered sugar, and sawdust. Tasty.
