Los Vecinos del Campo Mezcal

Los Vecinos del Campo is a mezcal project from the Sazerac Company (makers of Buffalo Trace bourbon and many other brands) and Casa San Matías, one of the oldest tequila distilleries in Mexico. 45% lote MOO13EB at Baja Betty’s agave club in San Diego. Overall good. Aroma is citrusy and sweet with a hint of white pepper. Taste is sweet with some pepper and light spice. Sips like a spicy tequila more than a mezcal. Finish is short but pleasant.

A smooth, herbal ensemble that starts off hot but quickly mellows. A nice sipper. LOT M0013EB.

A gritty, fresh spirit. Aromas of dill, caraway, and peppermint. Notes of green tea, mint, cooked agave, and clove.
