Mezcalosfera Bicuishe / Tobala / Madrecuishe was produced by maestro mezcalero Margarito Cortés in Miahuatlan, Oaxaca. This ensamble is made with 60% maguey Bicuishe, 20% maguey Tobala, and 20% maguey Madrecuishe. 157 litres of this were produced in May of 2018.
Mezcalosfera de Mezcaloteca
Mezcalosfera de Mezcaloteca is the exported bottling from Mezcaloteca, the famous bar in Oaxaca City that is renowned for their educational tastings. They source all of their agave spirits directly from producers in seldom-traveled parts of Oaxaca that are often hard to get to. They put an exceptional amount of information on their labels, and all of their releases are very small batches that exhibit the most unique characteristics of mezcal. Though only a few batches have been brought into the US, there are dozens upon dozens of different varieties available for sale at their tasting room in Oaxaca City. Most of their spirits are labeled “Aguardiente de Agave”, however all of their limited exports are certified “Mezcal”. These mezcals are imported into the United States by Heavy Metl Premium Imports, which also imports popular brands Mezcal Real Minero and Rey Campero Mezcal.

Nose : Iceberg lettuce with brown sugar sprinkled all over, banana ice-cream, fresh tobacco and throw in the public pool.
Taste : fresh and exhilarating, garden greens with simple syrup topped off with warm spices.
Finish : dry yet sticky? Hangs on for a while..

8 reviewsVery approachable elegant mezcal with roasted pineapple on the nose, pungent and fruity. First it is soft with a longer than expected finish. This mezcal tastes super clean and is highly recommended, if you can find it! This bottle came from Xintury Inc. in Montreal.

Best mezcal I’ve tried. Amazing earthy notes on the nose. Fruity, mainly fresh tropical fruits, on the palate. Super long and strong finish. Perfectly balanced. It does’nt get any better than this.
