Zignum Silver tastes more like a tequila than a traditional mezcal. It's made in Tlacolula de Matamoros, Oaxaca at a large, modern production facility.
About this mezcal
Zignum Silver is unaged after distillation. It has slight notes of citrus and sweet green agave. Given it’s production processes, where the agave is steamed rather than smoked or roasted, this mezcal does not have a smoky character like mezcals made in a more traditional setting.
Zignum Mezcal
Casa Armando Guillermo Prieto (AGP), where Zignum is made, is the largest distillery in Oaxaca. Their main goal is to create and commercialize agave distillates using the most advanced industrial technology. Rather than roasting their agave in pit ovens, their agave is cooked in an industrial autoclave that does not impart the smoke that is found in mezcal made at smaller traditional operations.

1 reviewI opened this bottle and it smelled like nail polish remover. It tasted equally as awful. Run and hide from this. This is NOT mezcal.

1 reviewIt doesn’t taste like mezcal, it tastes more like a bad tequila. By the way, the bottle does not have the “Mezcal Artesanal” legend, so it is likely not following the traditional way of doing mezcal, and it is the reason why it doesn’t taste like mezcal. My advice, do not buy Zignum Silver

3 reviewsIs this Vodka or Mezcal? It’s hard to tell….. The plant seems very under matured, doubtful they even waited 3 years before harvesting…. This reminded of me the time I had “McCormics Whiskey” 90%vodka-10%food coloring….. DO NOT BUY….
Although if you mix it with enough lime and sugar you may still be able to get it down… I mean I did still drink it… Begrudgingly
