My absolute new favorite. They use the best quality ingredients and it shows. The nose is earthy and fruity with a hint of smoke. The palate is sweet melon, some spice that invigorates old memories, and vanilla, then smoke. Finished with growing appeal it really opens in the mouth and you get some caramel and smoke.
This was my absolute favorite, unfortunately, the last few batches have been a letdown. Previously super complex hits all the points on the flavor palate and finished with a complete herb and smoke. I think the Maestro Mezcalero has been devoted too much attention to the other top-shelf “pricier” from this line.
This is a very nice mezcal, it really depends on the batch, with the higher batches, they have got better and it’s worth a second look. The nose is smoke forward with a hint of citrus, the first taste is smoke with a balance of oil and citrus. Finishes spices and the smoke dissipates quickly, works nicely as a sipper or a mixer.
This is a very easy-to-drink mezcal, nice nose with a hint of smoke. Complex balanced taste vegetal, pepper, spice, and a little smoke, finished a little vanilla and anise, definite sipper.
