I perfect marriage between Gin & Mezcal. Light in Juniper so it can highlight other botanicals like Lemon Grass, Avocado leaves and Cardamom. A balance of classic mezcal and well rounded, fresh, crisp clean Gin. Amazing for Mezcal lovers and Gin enthusiasts. After reading the botanical mezcal process- you can call this a “vegan pechuga” with a wild Cenizo agave base making this much different then the other similar products in the market that use an espadin base. I sip this neat- but would make a great MG tonic as well. Salud!
I had the opportunity to try this special production of a Masparillo agave found in Durango. With this being my first Masparillo to try, I had nothing to compare it except the few ancestral expressions I have tried from other mezcaleros. Just over 50% it delivers abundance of flavors like wet grass, minerality, vanilla with a beautiful finish. I found out they use a phillipine still for production which is very uncommon due to the strength of the still typically does not allow for many uses, but it original to the production styles of Durango. Also, hand painted by the communities within Durango releasing a featured agave production once a year. I love what they are doing and cant wait to see whats next!
A great entry level and cocktail friendly expression. Usually we see this in the Espadin world, it is nice to have a Cenizo in this price range that can offer a great sipper or an amazing cocktail. Great packaging and amazing story from the Rossbach brothers. Cant wait to see what they bring out next from Durango!
