Delighted and surprised by this espadin. I picked up a chocolatey taste when sipped. And with grapefruit in a cocktail an excellent pairing. For the price point cannot be beat.
My current fave of the ‘standard’ single village espadins by DM. Fruity and delicious. Very drinkable.
For sipping it’s not bad – floral, pleasant, and slightly aged tasting. It’s been really good in cocktails, especially more fruit forward ones like margaritas and Paloma’s. Sticking to cocktails with this one. Not exceptional but solid.
Mal Idea are making some solid mezcales for the price point. The tepextate is approachable, smooth, and light.
A friend brought a bottle and we tried this last night. We were pleasantly surprised. Very floral and fruity up front. Surprisingly smooth for sipping with not a lot of attack. Will likely pick up a bottle and try making some drinks.
