A gift bottle of this was my gateway drug into the world of mezcal. Very smooth and well balanced with a slight sweetness and vanilla notes similar to a reposado.
Complex vegetal flavors with really interesting notes of leather and minerals (chalk/limestone), but what brought it down a star was the slightly harsh, astringent finish. I would like to try this one some and judge it on more than a single shot in shot glass of questionable cleanliness.
As stated in the other reviews, very light and simple, with only some smokiness and a sweet aftertaste that made me think of BBQ. Some floral/fruity notes, but not much, although I could not tell what was from the mezcal and what came from the bartender’s hand lotion. Surprisingly viscous mouthfeel.
