My first mezcal was at a great Mexican restaurant in Charlottesville, VA called The Bebedero. The owner, River, is a huge mezcal connoisseur and puts on incredible tastings. If you're ever in the area I highly recommend reaching out to him ahead of time to see if you can schedule a tasting with him. Or just go to the bar and enjoy their selection.
