I wasn’t sure how to rate this Bacanora , since it seems like there are two versions of the “same thing.” Over time, I’ve bought several bottles of Puntagave Bacanora at a store in Wisconsin and enjoyed them all. After a friend went to a different store in Wisconsin and picked up a couple of bottles for me, I noticed a rather large taste contrast between the batch he got for me and what I had previously purchased. The labels looked very identical– but reading the fine print at the bottom of each label revealed some subtle differences. My batch was made by Jorge Rivas while the batch that was purchased for me was made by Roberto Contreras (other details were either similar or different for each batch). I very much prefer the Rivas versions; unfortunately, I don’t really know which version any given store will have (it’s possible that the store itself won’t even know when they order “Puntagave Bacanora”), so I have to settle for whichever one they have, which is very frustrating. Why can’t the manufacturer make more noticeably different labels– ideally with a different name and picture– for each version instead of almost identical labels where the only difference is in the fine print? UGH!!
