Eterno Mezcal

Eterno Mezcal is a “super-premium” handcrafted artisanal Mezcal from the valley of San Dionisio Ocotepec , Oaxaca. This region has many renowned producers and it seems that more brands are beginning to export mezcal from this area. Mezcal Eterno is handcrafted by Don Nacho, a 4th generation mezcalero who runs the family palenque.

The only anejo mezcal I have tried, but I liked it a lot. A smooth espadin, agave fruitiness and caramel/butterscotch keeps going back and forth. I don’t know if the best mezcals should be aged at all, but I like the concept.

There’s a lot of barrel in this anejo – two years in used oak. Warm taste to the palette immediately which is followed with back notes of light smoke and citrus and caramel/vanilla. More expected mezcal flavours are muted a bit but they wander back in during tasting. Give your palate a bit of time to really pick up on the flavours. This is a sipping mezcal for those who like flavours enhanced by oak. A tequila glass will accentuate the bouquet and flavours. If you drink your spirits over ice, this will certainly suit this anejo.
