Lola Mezcal is made by mezcalero Lucio Bautista, who is the son of famed maestro mezcalero Adrian Bautista of Rio de Ejutla, Oaxaca.
About this mezcal
Lola Mezcal is produced by Maestro Mezcalero Lucio Bautista in Rio de Ejutla, Oaxaca. Lucio, who has been producing for many years, learned how to distill mezcal like most mezcaleros, from his father. This mezcal is made with agave Espadin that is cooked in an underground pit oven, crushed by donkey-drawn tahona, fermented in large wooden tinas, and double-distilled in copper stills.
Lola Mezcal
Lola Mezcal was created by friends who, in love with the tastes and romance of Mexico, made a handcrafted spirit. According to the brand, this mezcal is not meant to be sipped, but kissed.

Really enjoyable, budget sipper! everything about this espadin oozes quality. I added half a star overall considering this is a sub $40 bottle, in the current economy this is a real gem. not the most complex but nicely balanced. Well done, Lucio!

Nose: Vintage tennis shoe rubber. Citrus (Sugary Orange Tang). Tiny bit of butterscotch.
Palate: A modest creamy sweetness to it. Light and consistent the whole way through with the right amount of smoke. Salted toffee lingering in the aftertaste. Pretty good espadin especially at the price point.
