Pescador de Sueños Coyote has notes of red chilies, slaty agave, and a hint of dark chocolate. This bottle can be hard to find.
About this mezcal
Pescador de Sueños Coyote is produced using a small clay-pot still by Tio Fernando in Sola de Vega, Oaxaca. The land surrounding Sola de Vega is rich with both wild and semi-wild agave. The maguey Coyote (agave Americana) in Sola de Vega is known to be full of flavors of slate and minerals.
Pescador de Sueños Mezcal
Pescador de Sueños Mezcal is a project of the Santa Sabia Distillery. They present unique collections of select mezcales in hope of rescuing the mysticism and folklore of this ancient Mexican tradition. The mythical emphasis of the brand shows in their name as well, which means “the fisherman of dreams.” They focus mostly on small-batch, rare mezcals that are exported mostly to Europe.

40 reviewsI was unimpressed by this as well. I love Coyote, but not this one. It’s a cool bottle, but that’s about it. Also very pricy – almost $100 in Mexico, so I have no idea what they may be trying to get for it in the US or Canada.

33 reviewsThis is not necessarily bad but it’s not what I’m looking for in a mezcal. This, to me, smells exactly like a margherita cocktail: salt, tequila and citrus like lime and oranges. Not much else and therefore quite boring in my opinion.
Some dark chocolate on the palate.
