About this mezcal
Tr3s Tiempos Tobala from Diego Lucas Garcia was produced in San Luis Amatlan, Oaxaca. The agaves used in this mezcal are capon, meaning that the quiote of the agave is cut as the agave reaches maturity. This allows for the agave to concentrate more sugars in the heart of the agave.
There have been batch picks of this mezcal for Tahona Mercado and Bottles Barn, potentially among others.
Tr3s Tiempos Mezcal
Tr3s Tiempos Mezcal is a cooperative of people committed to preserving the traditions, the culture, and the purity of mezcal. They promote equity in trade to dignify the work of all involved in mezcal production. The brand name pays tribute to the three stages of life: being born, growing, and dying, as well as the three stages of production: the cultivation of agave, the distillation, and the packaging of mezcal.

430 reviewsBottle Barn batch. I tried the whole Tr3s Tiempos line in a tasting and this was my favorite expression. It’s very delicious. I didn’t write down any tasting notes at the time but I remember liking it very much.

133 reviewsNose: Sour mangoes, yogurty, as I sip I get a little pine and some of those herbs on the nose, grilled carrots maybe, tart berries
Palate & Finish: Some nice herbs I didn’t expect, lemongrass, cilantro, creamy papaya, mango, sweet lemon, chile powder, garlic, minerality at the back, asphalt, slate. Finish continues bitter graphite and citrus, then a bit of white pepper and tangy mustard, slightly leathery, and plenty of floral elements overtime, lilac and lavender
Easy 4.5 for me. Hits the great fruit and minerality with some good herbs. Lovely!
