Zopenco Espadin is produced by maestro mezcalero Moisés Hernández in San Baltazar Guelavila, Oaxaca.
About this mezcal
Zopenco Espadin is made with maguey Espadin (agave Angustifolia) that is 8-12 years old when harvested and cooked in a stone pit oven. The cooked agaves are crushed by a horse-drawn tahona. After fermenting in a wood vat, they are double distilled in copper stills.
