Lot no: AA-13. This is the bottling available at Costco in San Diego in mid 2022.

Nose: Toast, dust, with a sour undertone. Palate: Sharp, vegetal, a little smoky with a hint of decaying plants. Rounds out with a little sweetness as the sharpness fades, but still tastes like a compost bin.

The bottles are beautiful but I wish this was easier to drink. It’s barely passable neat, and doesn’t mix well with anything I’ve tried. Food brings out more of the decaying plant notes — you’ll regret pairing it.

Judging from the previous reviews, the batches vary in character and quality.
