Mezcal El Samaritano Tepezate is produced by Maestro Mezcalero Don Ambrosio Martinez Blas in Santiago Matatlan, Oaxaca. The harvested plants are cooked in an underground oven for 4 days, crushed by a horse-drawn tahona, fermented in wooden vats, and double-distilled in copper pots.

Mezcal El Samaritano was founded in 2013 by Maestro Mezcalero Don Ambrosio Martinez Blas in Santiago Matatlan, Oaxaca.The name is a reference to the festivity known as “La Samaritana,” which is celebrated on the fourth Friday of Lent.
