About this gin

Mezcal Gin MG is a small-batch handmade spirit that brings together mezcal and gin. Mezcal Gin is made with maguey Cenizo which takes 9 to 13 years to mature. It is produced using the pechuga style method of mezcal production, maceration and vapor infusion, however the chicken breast is replaced with gin botanicals that are harvested from the surrounding hills. This mezcal gin has classic botanicals in addition to Mexican ingredients like ancho chile, hibiscus flower, avocado leaves, and lemongrass. This is produced by mezcalero Juan Manuel, who also produces Senor Sotol and Burrito Fiestero mezcal.

Mezcal Gin MG

Mezcal Gin MG is part of the Maguey Spirits Co based in Durango, Mexico which also has Burrito Fiestero Mezcal in its portfolio. With the help of the local agriculturists, the company plants agaves for each bottle of Mezcal Gin that is produced.

This one is solid but so different to the point where it almost doesn’t even feel like mezcal. Haven’t tried the Gracias a Dios mezcal gin but would like to. Gin was my first love before mezcal lol so naturally had to try this. Sipping it is not really too enjoyable but will admit that a mezcal gin gimlet or a “gin”and tonic with this is fun! Worth a keep in the stash.

Added ice and lime and it kept getting more delicious as the mixture settled. The botanicals compliment the cenizo and produce a unique and addictive flavor. A must try
