About this mezcal
Revelador Pechuga is produced by legendary maestro mezcalero Gregorio “Don Goyo” Martinez Garcia and his son Rodrigo Martínez Méndez. Their mezcal is renowned throughout Mexico and abroad. After producing for brands like El Jolgorio and Nuestra Soledad in the past, this is the collaboration between Don Goyo and his son Rodrigo. During the 3rd distillation, a turkey breast is hung in the still and citrus and tropical fruits are added to the final distillate.
Revelador Mezcal
Revelador Mezcal is collaboration between famed Oaxacan Maestro Mezcalero “Don Goyo” and his son Rodrigo Martinez Mendez. Handcrafted in their paleñque in the heart of San Baltazar Guelavila, Oaxaca. “Revelador reflects our passion for crafting the highest quality mezcal and our deep love for this land and our way of life,” said Don Goyo and Rodrigo, “and with each sip we invite you to discover the true personality of each varietal from Espadín to Tepeztate, and in return we think each sip will also reveal your true personality, that is why we named our mezcal Revelador.”
Gregorio “Don Goyo” Martínez Garcia has been producing award winning mezcal for 30 years in his paleñque, a short walk away from where he and his son Rodrigo Martínez Méndez were born. After working with his father each day, Rodrigo spends his evenings as the mixologist at the famed mezcaleria La Cueva, where he found his inspiration for Revelador.

Wow, what a fruit-filled pechuga! The nose is all sorts of fruit and sweet notes: freeze-dried strawberry, pineapple, mango, chocolate cake frosting…it’s a sweetness in a really nice way, but it’s not really until the palate that you get more of the savory, umami qualities one might expect of a pechuga. I’m not complaining, though, ‘cuz on the palate the balance between those arms wide open sweet fruity flavors and the meatier, herbal notes is a real delight to experience. Finish is fairly crisp and poised, maybe with a little bite of orange oil to keep the flavors going. This is pretty special stuff and I can’t wait to share a full bottle with others.
