Rio Revuelto Ensamble is a product of Miahuatlan, an area known for its abundance of agave Karwinskii and its unique soil.
About this mezcal
Rio Revuelto Ensamble is made with 50% maguey Espadin and 50% maguey Madrecuixe. This mezcal is produced by maestro mezcalero Ramon Cruz at his palenque in Miahuatlan, Oaxaca. The agaves are cooked in an underground pit oven, milled with a mechanical shredder, fermented with well water, and double distilled in a copper alambique still.
Rio Revuelto Mezcal
Rio Revuelto Mezcal is named after and inspired by the rivers of Oaxaca. They are a mezcal brand that works with at least two different producers, with their bottles available in Mexico and on the international market.

153 reviewsLote 013-RCG is espadin, madrecuixe and jabalí, a bit different label, but still named “Ensamble“.
Very fresh nose, smells of lime juice, hints of very bright incense smoke. Palate with clear umami and tarragon typical of jabalí, but it keeps in the background. Some peanut with brown skin, and light clay minerality. Grass notes, lime peel and unripe mango. Interesting, but a bit muted. Try it if you see it, very uncommon character.
