Cruz de Fuego Mezcal is operated by the mother-son duo Margarita Blas and Carlos Mendez Blas. They both live and work in Santiago Matatlan, Oaxaca and use a distillery that has copper stills. They both work out of the same palenque and follow similar traditional techniques in their mezcal production.

Lot T02 bottle 117
No date whatsoever on the bottle
If you’re new to drinking mezcal then this is a good one to start with.
Fairly smooth but tastes watered down. Hot initially but that disappears quickly. Mild notes of anise and a bit of minerality. All flavor seems to evaporate after a few seconds. Easy drinking but don’t go out of your way to find it
Side note, the label is beautiful. Made from fabric and looks/feels really really nice. Makes the bottle seem way better than it is
