665 reviewsWhen I tasted the entire Cruz de Fuego line a while ago, this was my favorite. Tasting again, it is not as great as I remember. There are flavors of lime rind like a sour key lime pie. Not getting those organic “wood” notes common in many madrecuixe mezcals. Dry finish. Tried this at Palama in Santa Fe and didn’t catch the lot number.

729 reviewsThis is letdown in comparison to the Tepextate. This has light aromas of salt, minerality, and prunes. The palate is thin with notes of dried prunes, sour apples, and unripe banana. Very dry with a short finish that has a slight burn to it. Overall, this is hot across the palate and too thin for my liking.
