Tesla Mezcal

About this mezcal

Tesla Mezcal is a limited-release mezcal using Espadín and Bicuishe agave. This artisanal mezcal is milled with a tahona and distilled in copper alembics. The bottle was designed by Tesla’s Director of Product Design, Javier Verdura, in honor of his Mexican roots and early life growing up in Mexico City. The hand-blown glass bottle features a rich black finish inspired by Oaxaca’s Barro Negro pottery-making tradition.

Tasting notes from the brand: Floral, delicate and spicy with earthy aromas and hints of lime, green apple and spice followed by smoky notes. Finishes with soft tuberose, jasmine and chamomile. Mouthfeel is balanced, yet strong with light bitter notes at the end.

This mezcal was produced by the brand Nosotros Tequila & Mezcal. The original retail price was $450 USD but it will likely hit the secondary markets at a much higher price due to Tesla and Elon Musk’s rabid fanbase.

Nosotros Mezcal

Nosotros Mezcal is a small-batch agave spirits brand that marries the pura vida lifestyle of Costa Rica with the rebel spirit of Mexico, blending them under the California sun. The name “Nosotros” (us/we in English) is derived from the experience of enjoying the better things in life with family, friends and loved ones. The brand was started by Carlos Soto and Michael Arbanas in 2017. The idea of Nosotros was catalyzed by a college assignment, born from a passion for tequila. Their first expression was an unaged blanco tequila, and they now have both tequila and mezcal under the Nosotros brand.
