About this mezcal

Burrito Fiestero Tepemete is part of the limited Ancestral lineup that is produced in Durango, Mexico. This mezcal is produced by Juan Conde in San Nicolas, Durango. The agave are milled by hand with axes and distilled in a clay/wood viejo still. This still uses clay pots on the bottom chamber, with the upper chamber made of wood. As the spirit condenses, drops run through a bamboo into a collector.

Burrito Fiestero Mezcal

Mezcal Burrito Fiestero hails from the mountainous State of Durango. The company has an agave reforestation campaign called “ONE FOR ONE” where they plant one maguey Cenizo per bottle that is produced, essentially planting 10 times more than what they use. They also play an important role in the sustainable development of San Nicolas, Durango by becoming the biggest jobs provider of the region.

another fine mezcal from the conde clan.i can say that i have really enjoyed everything they have produced.this was very tasty.a simple profile and full sweetness.not complex imo.cotton candy on the nose and tongue.mild heat and pleasant medium finish.tepemete is not common and had to search to find this bottle.it was worth the effort.profile is along the line of espadin as expected.hope to see other releases from this label soon.very much a fan.

Lot: 001-TEP. This is my second expression from Arturo Conde. The Masparillo has become one of my favorites. This Tepemete is very sweet. Not cloying, it’s a deep complex sweetness that I keep coming back for. Cake frosting, date syrup, banana bread, No2 pencil, black licorice, and grape soda. I’m glad I bought a bottle of this.
