About this mezcal

Burrito Fiestero Ensamble – Salmiana & Cenizo is made with maguey Cenizo (Agave durangensis) and Agave salmiana. Burrito Fiestero has a light smokey scent, with sweetness and floral notes on the palate. Maestro Mezcalero Juan Conde double distills this mezcal in a copper still.

Burrito Fiestero Mezcal

Mezcal Burrito Fiestero hails from the mountainous State of Durango. The company has an agave reforestation campaign called “ONE FOR ONE” where they plant one maguey Cenizo per bottle that is produced, essentially planting 10 times more than what they use. They also play an important role in the sustainable development of San Nicolas, Durango by becoming the biggest jobs provider of the region.

Incredible value. Finally grabbed a bottle – great flavors from a fresh bottle. Lots of green pepper notes, some allspice funk, leather, clay, and burnt tea leaves. Excellent sipper. Lot 008-E

Lot 012-E. This mezcal has aromas of grape Pop Rocks, sour Warheads, lemon zest, and sweet cream. The palate has notes of fresh cherries, jalapeno, and sweet bell peppers. There’s also this starchy element of cheese grits and cheesy sourdough bread. This is really great, especially for the price point of $50-55. You really can’t go wrong with this and it’s a great departure from Espadin that you’d normally find near this pricing.

Had Salmiana in Cabo for the first time a few years ago and it stood out because it was so different. This is a solid ensemble for the price. Very grape, sour, funky cheese forward in flavor profile. Way different than any other mezcal I’ve had and also tastes good in a margarita and I don’t feel bad doing that with this bottle at like $45.

I agree with the other reviewer; this bottle is amazing and absolutely a steal at its’ price point. I wasn’t crazy about it at first but after drinking the neck and allowing several weeks of opening up it has become a fan favorite at our household.

Full grape candy nose blast, no other way to put it. Delicious and sugary grape goodness are the full aroma notes; really impressive and inviting.

Mild and sweet agave flavors, very little smoke to it and definitely nothing offensive at all. Just enough spicy-burn to assert the mid-ABV presence on the tongue/cheeks but the main flavor notes again are simply sweet candies (smarties, the candy shell of a jawbreaker/etc). So tasty it’s dangerous!

This has become one of my very favorite daily sippers and is something I use to introduce staunch “tequila only” drinkers to Mezcal with.

Buy a bottle today, drink off the first 4–6 ounces and then come back in a month to your new budget favorite.

beautiful and well made.arturo knows his craft.the nose is dominant cenizo (grape and assorted fruits) with baking spices.the palate is exactly what the nose predcted.i have fallen in love with cenizo mezcals.they have this grape candy quality.thats wonderful on its own but when you add the salmiana to it (think of spicy cheese dip), it is so delicious!the two are blended and balanced perfectly.very little heat and mellow.the finish was long, sweet and just a hint of the salmiana spice.i was tempted to give this a 5 star.price point is around $55.00 which makes it a steal.i must get another bottle of this lovely mezcal!
