About this destilado de agave
Comunidad No. 5 – Bramaderos is a delicate ensamble of maguey Espadín (Agave angustifolia) and wild maguey Bicuishe (Agave karwinskii). This was distilled by famed mezcalero Don Beto’s son Onofre Ortiz, at the family distillery. The rolling hills of Miahuatlan produce exceptional Agave karwinskii and the local mezcals are among Oaxaca’s finest. This batch was distilled in December, 2021.
Comunidad
Comunidad is a brand from Hector Vasquez de Abarca, who ran production at Los Danzantes, and Ansley Coale, importer of mezcals and raicillas since 2004 and creator of the Mezcalero brand. They collaborated on Comunidad to find, bottle, and represent superb agave spirits with the intent of helping to preserve the society and culture from which they come. Society and culture create the depth that underlies these profound human achievements, but they are threatened by rapid commercialization.

671 reviewsAromas of blueberry pie, orange creamsicle, strawberry twislers, and fresh custard. The palate has soft notes of powdered sugar, fresh spring wildflowers, blueberry cobbler, and crème brûlée. This is great.
