La Remilgosa Sotol Texanum is unique in that it is a sotol made in Durango from the seldom used Dasylirion texanum plant.
About this sotol
La Remilgosa Sotol Texanum differentiates itself from most sotoles on the market by the region it’s made, the plant subvarietal used, and the production process employed. La Remilgosa’s sotol texanum has both the signature creamy consistency of producer Gilberto Roldan’s spirits, and the dasylirion plant’s classic earthiness. Look for notes of wet stone, beets and cucumber are balanced by sweet, pleasant flavors of marzipan, hazelnut and caramel.
La Remilgosa
Le Remilgosa is produced in Nombre de Dios, Durango by Maestro vinatero Gilberto Roldan. He produces distilados de agave ancestrales y artesanales for the brand.

621 reviewsThis is a very “sotol-y” sotol. Dank brown grass, old lime syrup, dunder heavy rum-ness. This is the real deal. Nothing refined about it – a wild distillate. This is Dasylirion texanum made in Durango and I’m still discovering the differences between this type of sotol versus plants like D. wheeleri made in Chichihuahua. Makes me excited to visit Durango someday. If you like the funky stuff this is a must-try.. not for the Lenny Kravitz’ of the world. Lot 202203, 51%.

671 reviewsLot 202203. Aromas of wet hay, stale beer, dive bar, potatoes, freshly picked carrots, and raw earth. The palate has some sweetness with notes of cucumber, watermelon, hazelnut, and wet hemp. This is super flavorful and robust.
