About this mezcal
Agave Macho Espadin-Madrecuishe is produced using 50% estate grown Maguey Espadin and 50% wild Maguey Madrecuishe. The agaves are cooked in an earthen oven roasted with mesquite and guamúchil. The cooked agaves are fermented in a natural pine vat with 100% natural local yeast and then distilled in coppper. This mezcal has notes of minerals, mint, green banana, and ripe agave.
Agave Macho Mezcal
Agave Macho is produced in San Isidro Guishe in Miahuatlán, Oaxaca by Maestro Mezcalero Don Roman Rosendo. There, a 3,500-acre ranch serves as a collective of small palenques that have been producing mezcal together since 1931. The Agave Macho line consists of ensemble blends of estate agave varietals. All ensembles are created with a common base of 50% Espadin and a rare wild agave. Agave Macho only harvests maguey varietals that are mature so varieties are subject to availability. Agave Macho is imported and distributed by Juice Mongers in the United States.
