About this mezcal
Convite Ensamble Silvestre is made with wild maguey Tepextate, Tobalá, Madrecuishe, Lumbre and Tobasiche. The agave are cooked in an underground pit oven, milled by a horse-drawn tahona, naturally fermented with spring water, and double distilled in a copper alembic still. The production of this mezcal is supervised by mezcalero Cosme “Tucho” Hernández and his brother Daniel. There are some batches of this Ensamble that also include wild agave Coyote.

Mezcal Convite is an artisanal mezcal from San Baltazar Guelavila. It is made in the traditional way, without any accelerators or added flavors, using the highest quality ingredients. The production is made in small, exclusive lots. They are a Oaxacan-owned company.

Palate – Icing sugar sweetness. Vermouth. A slight jalapeño pepper spiciness. A floral soapiness to it. Not great value here for a sipping mezcal.

A biscuity aroma leads the way to creamy, nutty flavours. There is also vermouth and violets (in particular, Scandinavian violet pastilles!). A very complex and well-balanced spirit.
