About this mezcal
Exiliado Tobasiche is produced by mezcalero Artemio García in San Dionisio Ocotepec, Oaxaca. This mezcal is made with wild-harvested maguey Tobasiche (Agave karwinskii). The agaves are cooked in an underground pit over, milled by tahona, and double distilled in copper.
Exiliado Mezcal
Mezcal Exiliado is sustainably produced by Artemio García, using traditional methods he learned from his father, maestro mezcalero Margarito García, a legendary producer. The carefully selected agave hearts are wood fired over volcanic rock, stone ground, fermented in pine barrels, and distilled twice in copper at a small palenque in San Dionisio Ocotepec, Oaxaca.

671 reviewsLot TSJ-20-01. Green on the nose. Aromas of stewed vegetables, red Starbursts, raisins, and figs. There’s also a honey element that comes through on the nose. The palate is hotter than I expected. Notes of raw honey, watermelon, spearmint, and peaches. I’m enjoying this.

621 reviewsMy favorite of the Exiliado lineup. Notes of mint, cinnamon, honeydew, and dark agave syrup. More “Karwinskii-ish” than the Madrecuishe. Lot TSJ-20-01.
