Miel de Tierra Reposado is made by Mezcalera Doña Teresa Rubio Murillo in the Jalpa region of the state of Zacatecas, Mexico.
About this mezcal
Miel de Tierra Reposado is made with blue weber agave. This mezcal is produced more similarly to modern tequila, using a mechanical shredder, autoclave oven, and a copper pot still. After distillation, this mezcal is aged in oak barrels before bottling.
Miel de Tierra Mezcal
Miel de Tierra means Earth’s Honey, and the name comes from the sweet, amber-flushed tree sap, which can only be found in virgin barrels made of fresh natural oak timber. Given the name, Miel de Tierra has a robust barrel-aging program and they also have several unaged releases. Their location in southern Zacatecas makes them a fairly unique brand internationally.
