About this destilado de agave
Puntiagudo Jabali from Rubén López was produced in the community of Santa Catarina Albarradas, Oaxaca. This was produced using maguey Jabali (Agave convallis). The agaves were cooked in an underground pit oven and distilled in small 80 liter clay pot stills.
Puntiagudo
The name Puntiagudo refers to the shape of the quiote stalk of wild agaves, and also to the production of distillates with high alcoholic content (puntas). The boar used as a logo summons those who desire and seek something extraordinary in the agave distillates market.

717 reviewsLot RL-JAB-01. Slightly lactic with earthy elements and aromas. On the nose, I find notes of soft cheeses, bread yeast, peat, hemp rope, chipotle, and dried fish. The palate is soft and delicate. Notes of salami and hard deli meats, cheddar cheese, seaweed, fried soy, and raw oats. This is a clean view of the agave with a touch of clay/earth from the clay pot distillation.
