About this destilado de agave
Puntiagudo Tobala Pechuga from Rolando Ángeles was produced in the community of Santa Catarina Minas, Oaxaca. While most pechuga mezcal is made with maguey Espadin (Agave angustifolia), this pechuga is made with maguey Tobala (Agave potatorum). For the third and final distillation, maestro Rolando added his unique pechuga recipe to the clay pot still.
Puntiagudo
The name Puntiagudo refers to the shape of the quiote stalk of wild agaves, and also to the production of distillates with high alcoholic content (puntas). The boar used as a logo summons those who desire and seek something extraordinary in the agave distillates market.

717 reviewsLot RA-TOP-01. Aromas of orange soda, grapefruit, and Hawaiian Punch. The palate is also quite fruity. Notes of orange soda, Pepto-Bismol, pineapple, and a bit of smoke. This is just a total fruit bomb. I get very little of the Pechuga meatiness, so if you like non-meaty pechuga mezcals, this is the one for you.
