Wild Common Ensamble is produced by Joel Velasco, a 4th generation mezcalero in the community of San Luis del Rio, Oaxaca. This ensamble utilizes hand-picked mature Espadin and Tobala. The agaves used in this mezcal are milled by tahona, fermented with open-air yeasts, and double distilled in copper stills.
Wild Common
Wild Common was founded by Andy Bardon, an athlete, National Geographic photographer, and former mountain guide. As a businessman, his goal was to search for the most transparent products on earth produced in a sustainable way. Wild Common spirits are clean, additive-free, low calorie, gluten-free, sustainable, and transparent. Their tequila releases are produced at Cascahuin (NOM 1123), a highly-regarded distillery.

Review #60: the nose is a bit light with some sweet florals and light caramel. The palate is more expressive with more caramel, sweet florals, vanilla, crisp red apple, banana, cinnamon, and bit of rubber on the finish.
This is pretty good, if not a bit tame. The nose is fairly mellow. The palate definitely shines more with extra fruits and a bit more baking spices showing up. I imagine this as a gateway for people who drink wild common tequila to possibly branch out into their mezcal offerings, and on that point i think they do a good enough job. It’s enjoyable without being too overwhelming in any way. The rubbery finish is a bit unfortunate but i still enjoyed this.

Overall an enjoyable pour. Needed a little bit of time to open up. When I first opened the bottle I wasn’t much of a fan. Coming back to it a few nights later I dug it.
Nice after-dinner pour as it leans toward sweeter/fruitier side of the spectrum.
Sweet, toasty agave on the palate moving to a creamy, stone-fruit flavour. Medium finish and great mouth-feel.
I would buy it again as a sipper, although there are lots of brands to consider at the price point.
