Spicy and sweet .. the mango is very prevalent here , the mouthfeel is creamy and soft with a fiery pop of a finish that sticks around for a bit .. great dessert libation. Another hedonistic distillate from Margarito Cortés!

Can’t believe how soft this Coyote is right out da gate ! Kettle caramel cornbread..yep, cornbread topped with clover honey butter ..I give this one 6 stars! Pedro Vasques is a wizard!!

When I first cracked this one I got BBQ Figs .. loads of charcoal and a sweet fig like aroma.. then the acetone blew off and led to a Madagascar vanilla mint hot toddy.. the texture is pure velvet .. damn good juice .. gotta break out some big guns prior to Mexico in a Bottle !
Just fell off the wagon with this gorgeous lady! White chocolate covered strawberries..WTF!! Sweet spicy and tangy.. the balance here is so dialed I want to hide this bottle away and only speak of it in a hushed voice ..this beautiful effort from Felipe Cortés is my new favorite

Tennis balls, cheese curds, mushrooms, a pig farm, acetone, deer musk and douglass fur create an exceptional first impression.. that mouthfeel is very rich and far from angular.. leather, AstroTurf, cave aged gruyere, creamed corn and something I cant put my figure on that reminds me of a flavor in the VdM Lechuguilla all create a unique taste like no other Mezcal Ive consumed .. 4.5 stars

Toasted cornflakes honey and ripened peaches on the nose is down right hedonistic.. the mouthfeel is oily.. roasted corn cinnamon and peaches fill the mid palate.. this beautiful spirit finishes hot with caramelized sugar..Truely decadent..Another excellent mezcal from Aquilino García.. I am privileged to have a bottle
The smell of butterscotch flan, nectarines and cracked Szechuan peppercorns filled the room when I removed the cork! Funky mango peach lassi topped with bee pollen and ghee on the palate ..solid 2 minute finish .. wow that’s was fun !

Fresh cut grass, lilac,clove, oolong tea and barn yard tannery like nose. Banana fosters meets lamb tagine.. sweet and savory.. super clean and a touch of heat.. I like it !!
Freshly baked key lime pie with a caramel balsamic reduction in my nose and in my mouth.. demerara sugar on the front end.. the mid palate is of red currant moving into a soft minty finish. I put this in 2 blind tastings which I picked it top of the heap in both( 1 out of 9 & 1 out of 18!). Mezcalero 16 was in one of those tastings as well. This is by far my favorate Madrecuixe to date..Margarito Cortes kills it! Super excited to try the Mango y Chile he distilled in 2017. It should be in my hands next week!

To be fair I purchase this as a mixer and I would give it 3 stars based on that use.. It acts more like a neutral spirit.. there is not a lot on the nose.. lemon and a slight baked agave scent. The experience in the mouth is very clean with no finish. There are no flaws here.. I would recommend to someone who likes Vodka as a gateway to Mezcal

This is the first expression of Justino Garcia Cruz I’ve had the pleasure of tasting, it does not disappoint! I get a bit of honey mint and Serrano chili on the nose with a touch of tobacco.This tep is high minerality. The mouthfeel is soft.. candied Serrano & mint on the front end with leather in the mid palate and soft honeysuckle like finish.. I am looking forward to trying the Tobala and Espadin
This is hands down the most flavorful Pechuga I’ve had the pleasure of tasting. The nose is savory sweet with notes of baking spices chocolate and ground peanuts, the palate gives way to a salty sweet decadent experience that goes for for minutes.The texture is oily and really complements everything going on here. This is #2 on my list after the Real Minero Pechuga!
