Very complex smoky aroma–good. Taste is like spicy pine-needles with some good heat on the way down.
Great budget Mezcal. The Cuixe adds some interesting aroma and flavor. Light smoke, melon, green apple. Smooth in the mouth and finish.
Soft and less smoke than most mescals on the aroma. Good, oily mouthfeel with cut grass and earth tastes. The finish surprises with a burst of pepper and mild heat. It lingers for a while…in a good way. Really good and easy to drink. The way tequila used to be made.
Virtually tasted with Steven from San Diego Tahona Bar. Good. Sweet with butter aftertastes. Smooth.
Although I have heard this is “smooth smoke” I am still having trouble getting past the overly strong smoke taste. I keep hoping for the “apples, mango and other fruits” listed in the description but no. It is still good (anything breaking bad is good). But not a lot happening for me.
Tasted this with Tahona Bar’s Steven during virtual covid-craziness. I have never had jabali maguey before. It was very intersting–in a good way. Aroma was fresh with little smoke. Taste was incredible with pine-needles tingling my mouth. Finish was good.
Cool bottle with waxed cork. Light smoke and wood on the aroma, good taste, finish is long, smooth and a little sweet.
