Maguey Carne is not scientifically specified. This maguey has long floppy pencas. In 2017, Graciela of Real Minero first introduced us to this rare maguey. She’d managed to find one and had decided to grow it in her nursery in hopes of getting the seeds and growing more. At that point in time, it hadn’t been used to make mezcal for many many years, if ever.
