This bottle had been open for a long time and the juice had plenty of time to open up, I found this to be a great expression. It was not my favorite of the night but was happy to have had a chance to try this project before it’s gone forever.

A lot going on up front – old shoe and citrus peel. Palate continues to pack a punch of new Tupperware and peppercorns. A bit hot, pretty interesting and unique profile.

Batch AORN01. 1462 Bottles. Smells like Don Beto: flowers, perfume, minerals, and dryer sheets. FULL flavor. Big body. Palate has notes of cotton, fruit, vanilla… this has a lot going on but it is HOT. I didn’t realize how hot it was until later in the pour. This one creeps up on you. Lots of fire. It gets hotter the more you have. I’m a puntas guy so I like the heat, as long as there’s a good payout. This one feels like it’s coming in hot where it doesn’t need to.

Ordered the Palenqueros Madrecuishe by Alberto Ortiz online but I got this sent to me instead, not quite as good as the pure madre. This needs to cool out, at 53% it’s a bit hot as I have it. Espadin flavors are more prominent. It has the nice Beto Ortiz/Miahuatlan mineral flavor that I like.
