Farolito Horno

Aug 2, 2019

Not sure if ive had Horno agave before. Sweet and smooth… definitely tastes like a diet karwinski (in a good way). Another winner from Ulises

Farolito Penca Verde

Aug 2, 2019

Very strange… musty smell, like mothballs mixed with mulch. Tastes like an army surplus smells. Perfect finish that lingers like sweet woodsmoke in a bbq joint. Enjoyable

Rey Campero Tepextate

Jul 27, 2019

Echo most everything the other reviews have already said. If there were less of a fusel-type alcohol burn on the finish, this would be 5 stars. Well done

Don Mateo El Legado

Bubblegum, oak, pine. Worth the price of admission

Mezcalosfera Maguey Tobasiche – Emanuel Ramos

Jul 26, 2019

Splendid. Harkens back to Real Minero Largo. Slight spice and sweetness up front, with a smooth mango finish. Notes of hay and green apple as well

Lalocura Tobasiche

Jul 7, 2019

Reminds me of the first time I heard Bone Thugs East 1999 album. The first time I had Truth BBQ brisket. The first Texas/Oklahoma game I went to. The first time I saw Jurassic park.

Almost flawless expression of my favorite agave

Lalocura Tobala

Jul 7, 2019

Somewhere between 4 and 4.5 stars. Solid tobala, but maybe not worth $180. Pepto, dried berries and wet asphalt. Interesting

Lalocura Cuishe

Jul 7, 2019

Brown butter, herbs, and citrus. Finish is smooth like an infants bottom. Up there with Lalo’s best

Lalocura San Martinero

Jul 3, 2019

Yeah, i dunno if I really get the love for this one. Not what i was hoping initially…. muddled flavors and an alcohol burn that is unpleasant. Need to revisit before I write anymore. The flavors/smell are great, but cant give this five stars. 4.25/5

Lalocura Espadin

Jul 3, 2019

Classic Lalo offering. Not sure if its worth the price ($150), but very good nonetheless. A less smokey Chichicapa. Woody and light, with faint smoke

Pescador de Sueños Cuishito

Jul 3, 2019

A stunner. Wish this one was cheaper. Could drink this all day. Up there with the best mezcales ive ever had. Very complex. PB&J meets jamba juice meets meat market. Crazy

Vago Tobala en Barro

Jul 3, 2019

Almost 5 stars. Really creamy and smooth… almost thicker than a mezcal should be, if that makes sense. Well integrated with notes of blueberry, wet rock, and faint grassiness. Incredible

Vago Sierra Negra – Aquilino

Jun 28, 2019

Wow

Wow. Just incredible. Extremely balanced and nuanced. I could down this entire bottle in a few nights. One of the best mezcals ive had

Mezonte Michoacan – Jorge Perez

Jun 28, 2019

Cant remember if ive had an Alto raicilla before or not. Anyway, very enjoyable raicilla with notes of apricot, baked bread, and cheese. Absolutely Worth trying

Mezcalero No. 22

Jun 28, 2019

Smell is muted to me, but everything else about this elixir is delicious. Borders on a tobala in finish, no alcohol burn and a very pleasant bubblegum note that lingers

Mezcalosfera Madrecuixe – Margarito Cortés

Jun 28, 2019

Definitely tropical… one of the longest finishes ive had in a while. So many flavors, its tough to describe. Extremely complex. Outstanding

Erstwhile Espadin Limited Edition 2018

Jun 16, 2019

The best from Erstwhile ive had. A tad on the smokier side, with some faint gouda and blue cheese notes. Not a super long finish, but no burn or abnormal flavors present. Diggin this for sure

Cuish Espadin – José Santiago Lopez

Jun 16, 2019

Real herbal/minty for an espadin. Went down quick and i was a couple of drams down at this point, so dont really remember much else

5 Sentidos Jabali

Jun 16, 2019

Best jabali ive ever had. Lotta stone fruit, some bubblegum, and a nice light herbal/mint finish

Would bang again…. glad i bought a bottle

Real Minero Espadin, Barril, Largo, Mexicanito

Jun 16, 2019

Cant go wrong with any of the last 4 or 5 Real Minero Ensambles

Flavors are all over the place, but really well integrated. This mezcal takes you on a tour of Oaxaca… one sip gets you farther than any website, video, or book ever could
