Very maple on the nose. A little spicy but in a pleasant way. Sweet and spicy and green. Fun and delicious!
10/5 stars. This is the best spirit I have ever consumed. I’ve heard there are two batches and one is significantly better, but whatever I drank was the most mind blowing thing I have ever drank in my life. If you see it, drink it
Lot 18-mc2 2017 48%
First thing that stands out is how creamy and smooth this feels in my mouth. Almost velvety on my tongue which I love. Initially a little peppery and vegetal…very green. Next to no heat or smoke. Finish is sweet, fruity and delicate. This is a real treat.
Lot Rmtr-01 2016
Sweet, fresh cut grass and clay on the nose. Crazy strong peanut butter taste with a slightly tart finish. Crazy smooth, could drink this all day
Lot 4 bottle 408/7430
Sweet and fresh, slightly tart on the nose. Really smooth, sweet and a tiny bit sour. Tastes like biting into a crisp green apple. Mellow finish. Incredibly pleasant
Lot Jab-182. Incredibly smooth! Really bright on the nose. Strong citrus and acidity. Woody finish. Killer bottle!
Very smooth, easy drinker. Sweet on the nose. Mildly earthy and floral. Slightly woody. No strong finish. Enjoyable
Decent mezcal. No flavors that really stand out. Only tastes mildly of agave. Pleasant, simple, easy to drink. Taste fades really quickly. Good beginner mezcal or would be perfect for cocktails.
2.5 stars.
Lot T02 bottle 117
No date whatsoever on the bottleIf you’re new to drinking mezcal then this is a good one to start with.
Fairly smooth but tastes watered down. Hot initially but that disappears quickly. Mild notes of anise and a bit of minerality. All flavor seems to evaporate after a few seconds. Easy drinking but don’t go out of your way to find it
Side note, the label is beautiful. Made from fabric and looks/feels really really nice. Makes the bottle seem way better than it is
55% Tobala, 45% Madrecuixe
So good! Very funky on the nose like a sweet blue cheese. Mild taste, very little heat or smoke. Much less funk on the palate than the nose. Earthy, creamy, peppery with maybe a little bit of pine. Complex to the point where I almost ordered a second pour so I could spend more time trying to figure it out. Love the tobala in it. Definitely try it if you get the chance
TOB-161
3.5 stars. But closer to 4 than 3. It’s good. Very smooth, easy drinker which is not surprising considering the fairly low ABV of 45%. Very disappointed that the strong fruity notes from previous reviews were basically nonexistent. Very smoky on the nose with no real heat to it. Like a camp fire the morning after. Strong minerality with a hint of citrus and a super clean finish. Definitely enjoyed it but wouldn’t pay a premium for it
Sweet and oh so citrussy! Very little heat in the beginning, smokiness builds slowly and pleasantly without overwhelming. Well worth a try
