Bottle 34 of 70, lot 13, destilled 03/2018. Love this brand and their wild funky flavours. Smells like blue cheese, Boysenberry on the palate. Such a delicious berry flavour.
Aloe smell, tropical fruits, fresh. Smooooth and easy to drink, barely any alcohol burn. Rocket/Arugula and grapefruit on the palate, slight hint of vanilla hidden in there. Excellent
Pine, pepper and paint thinner on the nose. Pine and plenty of smoke on the palate. An interesting one
Wow. Candy melons on the nose. Honey and melons on the palate. Light peppery finish. Absolutely delicious!
A bit of cherry on the nose, quite a bit of smoke on the palate, not too much complexity or flavours.
Grass and beans on the nose. Citrus, grass, light and peppery finish. A nice smooth balance and easy to drink.
Usually with a Tepeztate I hope to get that complex mix of different vegetables on the palate and did not get that with this. A little bit of bell pepper and that’s about it. Could have been a bad batch.
Very grassy and earthy on the nose and start, followed by some pepper and smoke, then finishing with clay and herbs. Very neutral, not overly complex with flavour.
Very sweet both on the nose and taste. A light hint of citrus and vanilla, a bit of smoke. Not much of a finishing taste
I must have got a really good batch! Smells like pineapple on the nose, first couple of seconds taste pineapple and spices, followed by delicious smoked and salty meat. Similar to their Iberico
I really like this one! An aroma of sweet melon and citrus. Salty, smoky and meaty flavour with some spice (very much like pork). Very rich and savoury flavour, absolutely delicious! In my top 5!
Very smooth and a pleasant smoky aftertaste. Other than that, not very much flavour to it.
Lot 03, bottle 33 of 200 (was a bit scribbled) Real funky this one! Dried fruit sweet smell. Sweet aloe vera flavour. Couldn’t see the ABV % on the bottle but probably low 60’s, and suprisingly low alcohol burn with something so strong! A lot less afterburn than most 40% ABV’s!
Savoury meat with cloves and smoke. Peppery alcohol finish you get from Del Maguey
Meh. Bit of pepper and floral notes. A bit plain, nothing stands out too much
Bit of chocolate mint and lime. You get the Del Maguey smoke, and thin and peppery finish.
A really tasty and smooth mezcal with a delicious after taste that stays in your mouth long after drinking. Very complex sweet vegetables and peppers at the start with a bit of spice. Smoothes out to an earthy tone.
Smell of banana cream. Quite smoky with a heavy, full bodied punch. Some hints of tropical fruit but it’s smokiness and punch hide anything distinct.
Get a very whiskey barrel aging flavour to this one. Hints of caramel and toffee. Not bad but not your typical mezcal
