Sublime is the first word that came to mind when describing this. Tried it against Felipe Cortes’ bicuishe, which I love and I liked this better. Must try!
Was very excited to try this. Everything from Edgar I’ve tried has been tasty. I get molasses and hazelnut. Very pricey, which is why I’m holding my score back.
This is similar to the Mezcalosfera Tobasiche, also made by Emanuel Ramos. Very approachable, no rubbing alcohol here. Vegetal and tastes of spearmint.
Taste like a Karwinskii, but it’s not! Wonderful nose. The flavors that stand out are molasses and green veggies. Big fan of what the Ramos family is making.
Decent espadin, I don’t enjoy it as much as the other Mal Biens I’ve tried. I get notes of sour apples. It has a short finish.
Aquilino 2014. Wow this is like nothing else I’ve had. Coffee bomb! Has a Carmel macchiato taste that I wasn’t expecting. Must try if you scope it.
Lot 23 Bottle 170. Tropical bomb! Mangos are all over this. Reminds me of some tobalas.
Lot XBP14-18 12/300. Awesome complexity. Karwinskii lovers will enjoy this. The Pacheco family makes some tasty juice.
Lot RM4N-01. 31% Espadin 29% Barril 28% Largo 12% Mexicanito. Creamy milk chocolate on the nose and on the tongue. The Largo and Mexcanito shine through. Hints of Texas brisket on the pallet.
Lote 18TZ2 2017. Peppery steak with a side of minerals. The finish is candied and spicy. I like everything I’ve had from Viejo Indecente. There is something in the water in Miahuatlan.
I’ve changed my score on this bottle 3 times and it keeps going up. I get a bunch of lavender on this. It has a chalky, limestone backing. Leather on the nose. A beautiful Tobasiche! I’ve enjoyed all of Emmanuel Ramos’ releases.
The Cuishe (Minas Cuishe is Mexicano)is only 33% but it comes though strong on this one. Chocolatey up front. Grassy Barril shines through on the finish.
March 2019. Very bold. Hot up front. Hazelnut and tropical fruit finish
January 2019.
I tried this against his father’s RM Largo, one of my favorites, and it’s amazing. It has such a complexity, so full. This is one of Lalo’s backbone Mezcals
Batch#2 Felt compelled to give this 5 stars. Agreed with the prior reviews, this has to be one of the best Jabali I’ve ever had. It’s light, nice spearmint flavor but creamy and complex. I’ll be in the look out for this bottle.
Purchased batch #3, not as impressive as batch #2. Not quiet as complex and creamy. This is a bit thinner but still delicious. This 4 stars.
This is an elite madrecuixe. Minty, vegetal, wonderful.
Nice Ensamble, tasty red apples come through with the tobala. The tepe gives it a nice peppery finish. Easy sipper.
At 38% the lightest mezcal I’ve ever tired. If you want flavor this isn’t it. This might be a good starter for someone who has never had mezcal.
Tried this at a bar and it’s wonderful, one of the best mezcaleros and madre cuixe I’ve tried. Will be looking to pick up a bottle.
