D5013-MC 48.9% Aromas out of the bottle are very muted both in alcohol and overall smell. Mostly just light brown Agave matter. Flavors are solid nail polish spicy finish tart and possibly some sourness interesting combination. Finishes with some woodsy tartness lactic sourness.
D5010-M 48.2% aroma out of the bottle arr watery almost seduce smoke and very little alcohol in the glass once again watered down acetone. Flavors had a lot of peppers Oriental spices some leather lots of alcohol finish is pretty nice though. Nice mouth coating oillyness in this on this one I enjoy that.
D5061-E 48.6% Aromas out of the bottle are very soft sweet light smoke almost no alcohol surprisingly. Flavors follow with spices of cinnamon cardamom well integrated alcohol into the smoke. This is a nice drinking espadine with lots of complexity mostly with Integrations of alcohol and smoke very little fruit on this one
Lot SLR011/22 BOT 648/1950 47.5% Aromas out of the bottle or pretty mellow with some salinity and some warm green aromas and of course the typical very simple alcohol. Flavors are also nice and mellow on this one with some saltiness very tangy mouth puckering flavors light smoke that integrates very well and finishes with a nice mouth coating smokey tartness
Lot SAM002/20 Bot.520/2350 47.5% Don Angel. Aromas out of the bottle are alcohol and pickle juice with some light smoke. Flavors are warm and sweet with some brown sugary candy background. After the bottle aired out for a while tropical fruit flavors became more apparent in the aroma but not so much in flavor.
2021 edition 109 bot# 915/2300 batch FCHES130920ACJ 45% Aromas out of the bottle are simple alcohol with a green overtone pretty light overall. Flavors have a sweet almost bourbon like quality to it with some cinnamon and green overtones very smooth clean finish no smoke. Incredibly mouth coating finish with lasting candy sweetness. This bottle has aired out some and has become even sweeter and smoother not bad for the price.
Lot 001-ESP/48 48% Aromas out of the bottle are very subdue and hardly noticeable Light alcohol aroma. Flavors follow in suit there’s not much going on there even though for 48% it drinks super smooth but lacks a lot of complexity no fruit mostly sweet light smoke and alcohol. I will say it’s super clean but I’d like a little more character I’d use this more for a mixer myself. It bet it makes a good margarita. This would be a great quality introduction Mezcal for beginners to try. Easy on the pallet but satisfying and mouth coating.
After the bottle aired out some the predominant flavor/aroma is new tire smell, think Big O. There are better Espadin for less. Overpriced for rubber flavors
LDMEX36 2351/2880 48% aroma’s out of the bottle or red fruit and cinnamon with the usual acetone alcohol very pleasant. Taste Falls to suit with a lot of agave Brown matter and finishing off with alcohol and a very clean finish. Some smoke but restrained. Once again pretty delicious for a $40 bottle. Nice burnt rubber aroma love it also overheated phenolics Electronics burning phenolics
Lot 1221 RM 46.0% Aroma is out of the bottle or cantaloupe watermelon and something green no smoke. Flavors follow with watermelon, watermelon rind, cantaloupe, cucumbers and wet cardboard predominantly this is a very unique mezcal unlike anything else I’ve ever had. This Alto is just great an everyday drinker. Cannot belive the fresh fruit flavors in this one. Over time I reach for this one over all else, so smooth and easy the fruit is outrageius. reviewed again on 8 2023 batch 1221 132M still one of my favorites. 11 2023 batch 1221 1RM Still so fresh The aroma is just like green jolly, ranchers and Agave amazing. Best cucumber water ever.
Lote 0521AS 48.3% Aromas out of the bottle were spicy candies light fruit and smooth alcohol. Flavors include candied fruit cinnamon smooth caramel and a nice clean finish. Just delicious. No smoke flavors or Aroma’s very clean.
Lote 27 48.51% Aromas out of the bottle are light smoke Cinnamon and simple alcohol. Flavors are very light smoke, alcohol and brown vegetatal matter. Light mint flavors everything is mellow with alcohol in the background. I agree that the individual Mezcal are better by themselves. After airing out some sweet tropical fruit flavor appears. Overall hot.
Lote 34 48.51% Aromas from the bottle are light smoke, roasted papaya, old leather and moderate alcohol. Flavors are mild roasted coconut dark green fermented vegetable matter. Lots of herbs and spices thyme oregano And something in the flavor profile like sandalwood or cider that leaves a long lasting flavor in your mouth. There’s an interesting Brown flavor profile through the whole taste. This one’s most unusual and I like the flavor profile quite a bit. This one baffled me for quite a while turns out it’s fresh bailed Hay clover and alfalfa flavors and Aromas.
Lote 40 48.51% Aromas out of the bottle are soft fruit and very little alcohol SOFT coco and brown butter. Very clean mouth coating and buttery, pepper. No smoke incredibly smooth finish that just fades away makes you want more. I like the flavor integrations on this one nothing stands out but it just goes together really well. Once again the alcohol is well hidden
Lote 26 48.12% Aromas out of the bottle are bitter gunpowder and butterscotch Peppermint Pleasant. Sweet spearmint Peppermint flavors 1st hit the tongue And then fades into nothing But a crazy intense mint like tingling sensation remains for a long time. This is crazy good very unique and different from most other mezcals. Herbal and medicinal Mouthwash comes to mind. Sweet eucalyptus. After many tastings I have decided on wet moss with sweet green tea with frog watet
Lot J-01-E-21 50.1% Aromas out of the bottle are very subtle slate, wet dog, watery watered down alcohol and plastic phenolics. Flavors bring on a spritsy Candy like texture to your mouth and fades away rapidly and leaves a sweet aftertaste in your mouth. Really hides the percentage well. No smoke or fruit flavors are really detected in this one. I think once this one airs out some it’ll be a great bottle for the money.
Lote A8 bottle 4807 year 7/20 45.3% Aromas out of the bottle are Asotone cut green grass sweetness. Mouthfield is amazing smooth soft dark green With some kind of candid finish NO smoke Just loving the flavors and how they all come together on this one. My 2nd favorite from this producer. Mild funk think I am going to really like this one after it airs out some. This is amazing good it just keeps developing.i believe that the aroma from this one is my favorite from any Mezcal. The sweetest Mezcal I have ever tasted. I like this.
Lote A10 bottle 560t year 6/20 44.8% Aromas out of the bottle are cheese overripe green vegetables and burnt Caramelized sugar. Aromas are vanilla Nice viscosity and mouthfeel a lot of barnyard smells and Aromas lots of funk here. Mango gone bad and other ripe spoiled fruits burnt orange. No smoke. I felt that after this bottle aired out the aroma and flavor improved significantly. It’s now one of my favorites from this producer. The more this one airs out the funker it gets! Almost over the edge.
Lote A10 bottle 560T year 03/21 45.0% Aromas out of the bottle are soft ripe cheese and alcohol. Spritzy sour green pepper and cola lightly sour kind of plastic flavors on the exhale. Soft overripe aloe fishey. My least favorite from Derrumbes so far.
Lote A8 bottle 4801 date 11/19 47% Aromas out of the bottle of sweet vegetable overripe green vegetables. Taste is no smoke ripe cheese ripe vegetables and burnt sugar flavors and Aromas maybe some of thecheese flavors but not like the san Luis Potosi. A lot to like here and easy to drink not my style but I do appreciate it for the style and Unique flavor.
Lot A9 bottle 2592 date 6/20 46.4% Aromas out of the bottle are soft smoke and ripe stone fruit. Flavors are soft and smooth pink candy flavors creamy with some fireplace. Very easy to drink love this style. Just nothing outstanding or wrong with this one.
