I messed up and didn’t get a pic of this one. Was 51.9% from Aquilino Garcia. Didn’t taste too alcoholic and was a nice contrast to the Espadin + Mexicano en Barro I tried it next to.
Tio Rey, 82% Espadin + 18% Mexicano from May 2019. Had this side by side next to another Vago Mexicano. I like the clay pot still but it definitely masks some of the agave.
It’s curious that the Americana is in the same category as arrroqueno. Batch SN02, and I really like this one. Fresh, and crisp with a little bit of spice.
I don’t know how to say this other than you can taste he age of the agave in this one.
Series 3, from 2018
Lot 8. Had this bottle a while. Bubblegum, mint, cantaloupe. Very solid for the price.
Lot MC01
Not sure how it’s taken me so long to try this one. Smelled a bit floral, tasted of leafy herbs.
One of my favorites from yesterday. Happily finished the bottle off at Todos Santos.
Lot 18 – Bottle 16. Just a touch of funk in the nose, and some pepper in the taste. Apparently fermented downwind from a mango tree and i like to think that impacts the taste, and i need to try more from Tosba.
LOT PPD-008
Some of my favorite agaves. Fun to taste this next to my Dobadan I have by Don Beto. Fruity and very balanced. Going to be a struggle to stretch this 375ml.
Tasty one from Don Beto – wish I had paid more attention when I was drinking this one. Lucky enough to have a sister that understands my love for mezcal and called me from the liquor store in Mexico.
Wanted to try this to see how it compared to the similarly priced option from La Luna. Both are good. this was the 90.
Nice ensamble of some of my favorite agaves, but coming in a little bit light for my tastes.
Triple distilled which i think is more common with Pechugas. Their strongest in the lineup that i tried, a close second behind the Mexicano.
Probably my favorite from Siete Misterios that I’ve tried. slightly partial to Mexicano but this was good.
Lol If you’ve gathered anything, I tried a lot of mezcals at Mexico in a Bottle. I noted this was very unique but didn’t have any other notes.
Batch RME-06 from 2017. I like a mezcal over 50%, this espadin did not disappoint, but their Largo has my heart (and I tasted that right before this).
I remembered most of their bottles saying their their Maguey was wild so i’m not sure if these are the same that I drank, but a nice lineup from a new brand I’ve never tried.
Towards the end of my day at Mexico in a Bottle. Only note I have is that I preferred the Tobala over Cuishe. Will revisit this one.
