Luckily got the last bottle Moreno’s liquors in Chicago had. Taste like sour patch kids with a kick of cayenne pepper. I need to hide this in the back.
I love anything by Felipe Cortés and this one only makes me like him more. Super floral and juicy, I love it.
A combination of two of my favorite varietals. Nothing else like this out, that I know of. Taste Peppery on the front with citrus-sour on the back.
Lot A-23-T-16 Aqullino.
Sugar cane and green peppers on the front and jalapeno heat on the back.12/29/18. 80% Tepeztate 20% Espadin blend 4.5 I liked it more than the 100% Tepeztate bottle. Aqullino knows what he’s doing, blending in a small percentage of espadin into some of his wild agave bottles, like he did with his Mexicano in 2014. Upper echelon Tepeztate.
9/3/22. November 2018 bottle. Incredible. Spicy fruity bomb with greens.
Tepeztate is Aqullino’s best version of mezcal imo. Looking forward to trying the sons version.
Tropical kiwi. Minty goodness. Taste of berries.
Lot 01CDBS15 from 2015. Smells of bubble gum and tastes of sugar cane. This is a special mezcal.
Lot 31CDIG03 Edition 9 2017 bottle 501/514. Not quite as good as the prior batch I had. This one is a little thin but overall good value.
This is a nice and mellow sipper. It has a sweet candy taste. It taste similar but better than Alipus blue which is also made in San Luis Del Rio.
One of my favorite Del Maguey espadins. Fruity and soft.
Very nice Jabali. It’s on the softer side, but in a good way. Smells of wild flowers. tastes of grapefruit and black pepper.
I love this mezcal, one of my favorites. It’s got a taste of bubble gum. It’s very soft on the nose and palate. If you like Dobadaan this is a must try.
This bottle surprised me, it’s a consistent cuishe. Taste of minerals and fruit. Very approachable. Great value. The bottle it’s self is strange.
This has a nice smell of carmel. Taste of sweet agave and a bit of spice. Pretty down the middle as far as tobala goes.
This was my favorite of the Mala Idea’s I’ve tried. You can definitely taste the jabali in this one despite only being 11% jabali. Very drinkable.
I wish this tasted as good as the bottle looks. Compared to other tobalas I can not say I enjoyed this one. It has a fishy taste.
Compared to other espadins for the same price, I can not recommend this one. It has a bit of sweetness, but it’s very harsh. It may be better as a mixer.
Batch 16. This is a great session mezcal. It’s sweet and enjoyable. The two other Reyes y Cobardes’ were too funky for me, so this one is definitely my favorite. It’s a great buy for the price, plus it comes in a one liter bottle with the wax top that I love to peel off.
One of my favorites by Alipus. Lot SLR008/15. It’s sweet up front with some nice heat to finish.
17J03-15 47.7%. Don Beto might be my favorite mezcalero. This is amazing. It’s sweet, smooth and a bit of citrus. Hard not to finish the bottle!
