Batch PVOES220821NS edition 20 year 2020 bottle ?/1190 48% distiller Pedro Vasques tasted on 1/11/2024 Aromas out of the bottle or simple smooth alcohol light smoke. Green and brown roasted agave aromas. Smells very clean. Wow this one melts in your mouth very smooth. Cinnamon roasted fruits.
Makes my tongue tingle. Super clean and easy to drink excellent sipper. A bit hot on the finish. But I think it’ll get better as the bottle airs out
Lot OE2/2016 47.5% Sampled on 1/5/2024 aromas out of the bottle are sweet green Agave in and simple alcohol. Wow the flavors are another dimension this is way better than I expected. Beautiful complicated sweet green and brown agave flavors. Excellent alcohol and acetone’s definition To finish it up super clean. Got this bottle as a bonus from Old Town tequila for $5. Can’t believe how good it is. After the bottle aired out for a month it took on some sourness and funkenness.
Lot 2 year 2020 43% Aromas out of the bottle are asparagus and green beans, with some complicated asotone and alcoholic flavors. The overall flavors are pretty good on this one with green and gabby, and once again green vegetables A little blue cheese. And pepper. Capers olives citrus. This is good.
Lot MGG-19 bottle 95/612 date 07/2021 Aroma is out of the bottle are just wow fresh cut hay pine needles modeling glue in a great way. It’s very minty with also a brown molasses candy like aroma. Flavors are sweet tabs. Minty grassy gassy alcoholic. With a very clean finish fresh and bright. The aroma is just outstanding on this bottle.
Lot SDO-171 46% Sampled on 12-12-2023. Aroma’s out of the bottle are peppers cheese aftershave brown overripe fruit fishey briney. Flavors are spicy lemons salty fish. After airing out some I think it is getting better. Nice fruit flavors and aromas.
Lot YJ21-22 Bottle 699/3000 45% Sampled on 12-11-2023 Aromas out of the bottle are Very green very Herbal. No smoke spicy. This is the greenest I’ve ever smelled alcohol in any form acetone, rubbing or simple. If a fresh cut grass field was put into a simple alcohol base, this would be it. This may be as close as a fresh cut yard has ever been bottled. The flavors follow the suit in everyway a little alcoholic but very drinkable. Lots of pepper sour alcohol and spices.
Lot YJ04-21 BOTTLE 1963/3000 48% Sampled on 12-102023 Aromas out of the bottle are light green sour Aromas kind of spicy sharp green flavors. This is strange pig pen like aromas. Flavors are sharp pine green cedar 🥓 this is all over the place. Sour cheese peppers wood. This shit is different but great. There’s a very unique Set of sharp aromas cedar juniper dirt. Damn this is good strange Enticing and exotic. I found the blue cheese and pepper flavor of romance before but this is very elegant. Unbelievable emotions on this one if you get a chance to try it.
Lot 1 bottled 2021 41% Sampled on 12-9-2023 Aromas out of the bottle are slightly sour simple alcohol butterscotch. Flavors are simple brown sugar light alcohol. Nothing special here. Not much mouthfeel. Thin. This is very drinkable and goes down easy just not much flavors would work as a mixer.
KSKMICH-01 Bottle 229/480 47% Sampled on 12-9-2023 Aromas out of the bottle are paint thinner light Smoke brown fruit. Mouth-coating heat plastic pricked. Spicy alcoholic finish no real fruit flavors just lots of heat. Paint tinner modeling glue burnt d m t. Lots of bad plastic aromas.
Lot VID223 2023/05/04 42% Sampled on 12-5-2023 Aromas out of the bottle are light Smoke light alcohol and a definite mezcal green aroma. Flavors follow suit and is easy drinking. This would be a good mixer and in a pinch a acceptable sipper. Been drinking this for a couple nights now and it’s a decent sipper interesting flavors for the price.
Lot A34 bottle 580T date 03/22 Aromas out of the bottle are like I’m not sure if I can drink this. Smells like sours stinky feet. After a long time, I got brave and finally took a sip. This is not for me. After airing out for a hour it became more drinkable, but what’s the point. Not my style.
Lot A42 bottle 1200T date 01/22 Tabernero Don Ruben Pena Fuentes 40.3% Aromas out of the bottle are nothing? Something light green milky. No alcohol. Flavors are not to my liking milky sour cake like. This will take some gitten used to. I’m going to consider this one a Dessert drink. Sugary cakey don’t like. This is stinky and unpleasant. What’s the point nasty
Lot AT3 Bottle 15/1000T date 11-21 Tabernero Salcedo Rios 46.6% Aromas out of the bottle are sweet sugary rubbing alcohol. Super clean love this. So easy to sip on. Light Vanilla citrus creaminess. Finish just disappear! This could be serious trouble, so good. My second Raicilla ever what a great one!
Lot A29 bottle 120T date 10/22 62.3% aroma’s out of the bottle are rubbing alcohol and taco chips. My 1st raicilla reminded of a grappa with candy like flavors. Not hot at all. Clean and simple. Mostly alcoholic like flavors kind of bland.
Lote MGG-8E bottle 125/1110 destination 2020 47.65% Serafin. Aromas from the bottle are mostly alcoholic and acetone like with some brown fruit. Flavors are sharp salty and mostly alcoholic. Little smoke dry finish
batch XJMO8-20 bottle 366/720 47.6% Maestro Jorge Mendez sampled on 9/2023. The aroma out of the bottle are alcohol with Dusty dirt green Agave flavors cinnamon and then again a spritz of alcohol. Flavors tend to follow with some prickly heat cinnamon green Agave light peppercorn and then kind of a Sharp finish very little fruit and no smoke.I I will say for the average ABV it’s a little hot but still delicious.
batch XBP04 -17 bottle 949/1600 49.4% Maestro Basilio Pacheco rated on 9/2023. Aromas out of the bottle are dark fruit brown sugar cinnamon allspice everything on the dark heavy sweet side. And something a little sour in there. Taste follows the suit with a lot of brown notes over ripe fruit but nothing tropical no smoke. Very thick and mouth coating no real alcohol present once again something brown and sour with some kind of sweetness. Kind of a Tangy finish that leaves a prickle on your tongue
batch XAOLS-18 47.8% bottle 267/300 rated on 9/2023 Maestro Alberto Ortiz. Aromas are holy shit this is on a different level. herb garden dill oregano mint and cinnamon that goes on for ever! no smoke very mouth coating. Pink lozenger candy. has a very warm feeling to it like something you’d want to curl up with on a cold night. honeydew mellon
batch 10ACOIG01 YEAR 2018 EDITION 018 BOTTLE 580/1193 MAESTRO IGNACIO GRIJALVA. 48%.Aromas out of the bottle are warm and soft with a sour mash like smell of a bourbon. Flavors are creamy and mouth coating of overripe tropical fruit no smoke. There’s a light funkiness that is very nice and adds to the complexity. mostly brown types of flavors with a bit of rubber. no fresh fruit. some mint like tingling flavors at the end.
46% no batch number Maestro Ricardo Ruiz aromas out of the bottle are buttery scotch and smooth smoke flavors. Aromas and flavors follow suit with overripe tropical mangoes and papayas this is really delicious mezcal for the price. Will continue to review as the bottle opens up but for the price this is a winner. After airing out and down to a quarter of a bottle the stuff’s a winner a lot of peppermint and other mints candy light smoke very approachable.
